Very Berry Antioxidant Smoothie

Berry smoothies are mine and my son’s favorite. They are a delicious way to get in lots of essential vitamins and nutrients as well as antioxidants.

I love adding berries to smoothies because they are lower in sugar than other fruits and are high in fiber. This supports blood sugar levels which is essential for better mood, better energy, healthy stress levels and more. I also love berries in smoothies because of their antioxidant properties.

Antioxidants help to fight off free radicals which can prevent sun damage and prevent premature aging. Antioxidants also help to reduce inflammation which is known to support the gut microbiome. A healthy gut microbiome is essential for healthy naturally glowing skin.

I love adding spinach or kale to this smoothie for added benefits like Vitamin C and chlorophyll. Greens are a great source of fiber which supports blood sugar balance and gut health.

For this smoothie I added almond butter which is a great addition of protein, healthy fats and Vitamin E. Almonds are amazing for healthy glowing skin. Plus, with the addition of protein and healthy fats, almonds make this smoothie even more filling and satiating. If you can’t tolerate almonds try using a coconut based yogurt or sunflower butter.

I did use a plant based vanilla protein powder in this smoothie. Tap here for my favorite protein powder and get 30% off your order.
