Antioxidant Glow Smoothie With Mango And Blueberries
If you want to glow from the inside out (aka better energy, better mood, glowing skin, glowing hair and overall more radiance) BUT you don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to prep in the mornings then smoothies are going to be your BFF.
I swear by smoothies for a lot of reasons:
They’re a great way to save time. Just toss everything in a blender. It’s really that simple.
They’re perfect for on the go
It’s a great way to pack in lots of vitamins and nutrients that you might not get from a standard breakfast
Everything is readily available for your body because the food has been broken down in the blender
This is one of my favorite smoothie combos. It’s high in fiber and antioxidants which supports your gut health and radiance.
For this smoothie I used blue spirulina. Spirulina is a complete protein source from the sea. It is a potent antioxidant. You can use blue or green spirulina. For blue I love this one here. For green, this one is my favorite.
I also added blueberries which are anti-inflammatory and also happen to be full of antioxidants. Because bananas tend to block the bodies absorption of antioxidants, I created this smoothie with mango and dates to add flavor and sweetness. I still eat bananas and blueberries together often, however, when I want a serious antioxidant boost I will eat them separately.
What you need (serves 2):
16 oz plant milk or coconut water
1/3 cup coconut yogurt or other plant based yogurt
2 servings of plant based protein (I love this vanilla protein here)
2 pitted dates (skip if you want to keep things low sugar)
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen mango
2 tsp spirulina (blue or green)
1 tbsp chia seeds
Directions: Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour and enjoy!
