Glowing Greens Smoothie
Whenever I feel like I need a little extra nutrition support, I opt for a green smoothie. This is one of my favorite green smoothies to make. Here’s why:
It contains banana which is one of the best foods for supporting skin hydration as it is high in potassium.
It contains mango which is high in Vitamin C and A, both of which support a healthy immune system.
It contains pineapple which has amazing enzymes to support gut health (which leads to healthy glowing skin and a strengthened immune system from the inside out)
It contains chia seeds and avocado, both of which are packed with fiber and omega 3’s to support gut health, glowing skin and hair.
It’s loaded with fiber and detoxifying chlorophyll which is essential for gut health.
Smoothies are easy. They require minimal prep and clean up which is why I love them as a busy mom. My kids are obsessed with smoothies, even this one which is so helpful since I can make a big batch for all of us to share.
When serving this to my kids I am picky about the protein powders I use. This superfood blend here is by far my favorite!
What you need (serves 2):
1 frozen banana
1 1/2 cupz frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/3- 1/2 of an avocado (I like to freeze mine for a better texture!)
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 servings of vanilla protein powder
A couple large handfuls of dark leafy greens like spinach or kale
Ice to thicken
16 oz plant based milk OR coconut water
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a cup and enjoy!
This recipe makes enough for myself and my two toddlers.
