S’more’s Protein Smoothie
This summer inspired smoothie is the perfect way to fuel your body post workout or whenever you need a quick and nourishing meal.
I love smoothies as a busy mom because they allow me to nourish my body with everything I need but without the overwhelm. This is one of my favorite smoothies for summer (or anytime of the year!). It’s packed with protein, healthy fats and fiber making it a well balanced meal. Plus, it contains other amazing benefits that support hormonal health like maca powder and cinnamon which supports gut health.
This smoothie can be made simply with only the “smoothie” ingredients or you can get fancy and add the add-ins and toppings.
Smoothie:
8-10 oz plant based milk or milk or choice
1/2-1 frozen banana
2 pitted dates
A dash of ceylon cinnamon
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2-1 serving of vanilla protein powder
Optional 1 tsp maca powder
2 tbsp hempseed
Ice to thicken
Optional add ins:
1 tbsp cacao nibs
Optional toppings:
Granola OR crushed graham crackers
1 tsp cacao nibs
1-2 tbsp coconut yogurt or other yogurt
1/2 tbsp almond butter
Directions: Add the smoothie ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Add the optional add-ins and blend for a few seconds. Line a cup with coconut yogurt and almond butter. Pour the smoothie into the cups and top with optional cacao nibs and graham crackers or granola. Enjoy immediately!
